Melanoma in Canada and Toronto

According to the Health article published by the online CTV news yesterday, July 26th, 2018 https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/canadians-among-the-most-susceptible-to-skin-cancer-study-finds-1.4028822    Canadians are the most susceptible to the skin cancer,  study finds.

According to this article, Canada ranks 19th among the 62 countries studied for the prevalence of melanoma skin cancer. Factors influencing the incidence and or the prevalence of the skin cancer include, but are not limited to the amount and intensity of ultraviolet radiation exposure, skin tones or colors, and the speed of early detection/diagnosis of the skin cancer.

So, what is the highest country for Melanoma rate?

Surprisingly, according to this study, it was New Zealand, with a score of 10. Apparently, because of the high sunshine with a high ultraviolet radiation exposure,  and a majority of the white-skinned population, these constitute the main reasons behind the high incidence of Melanoma in New Zealand. On the other hand, countries with the lowest incidence of skin cancer were Bangladesh, Iraq, and Egypt.

Treatment of Melanoma

Surgery represents the main line of treatment for Melanoma. A dermatologist with special training in Melanoma surgery is mandatory for the proper removal of this type f cancer. The type of surgery for Melanoma is called Moh surgery.

Non-Conventional means of Melanoma treatment

A few years ago, a plethora of new information and research came out on the radar of Melanoma care from Naturopathic Medicine. A positive impact on the survival of Melanoma patients and the use of the natural health product (Avemar) or Fermented Wheat Germ Extract has been confirmed in scientific research published in the Cancer Biother Radiopharm Journal in 2008,    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18771352

in a randomized pilot phase, II clinical study with 7 years of follow-up. In Naturopathic Medicine, which aims at treating the root cause of the disease or health problem, many other means help Melanoma cancer patients that depend on the disease status and the body's immune system and nutritional status.
