Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is a Treatment Modality that is used in many medical avenues including peripheral vascular diseases and hypertension. Some other uses are arthritis, joint diseases, and muscular pains. The use of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) in treating hypertension and vascular diseases is not only based on the theory of improving the blood flow to body organs and tissues but also proved by scientific research.
New research on the use of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) on patients with hypertension and vascular diseases has been recently published in Journal of Blood Pressure in 2020 https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/08037051.2019.1649591 In this research, 23 subjects with hypertension were treated with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) and were compared to another 21 patients treated with other therapies (Sham treatment like a placebo one). After 12 weeks of treatment, blood pressure readings were taken and compared to the pre-treatment measures, and plasma levels of Nitrous Oxide (NO) were compared between both groups before and after the treatment. The group of patients who received Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) showed an increase in the Nitrous Oxide blood levels (which is good for circulation function) more than the placebo group, also The blood pressure was much lower in patients who had Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) as compared to the other group.
In conclusion, the use of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) has a beneficial effect on reducing blood pressure and circulation in patients with Hypertension and Vascular Diseases
