Naturopathic Medicine
It is the use of natural interventions in managing illness. This includes using herbal supplements, vitamins, acupuncture, physical manipulation, bioidentical hormone therapy, and nutritional care. It can serve both the curative aspect of disease management and the prevention role as well. Naturopathic medicine provides supportive care for many disorders, such as stress disorders and prediabetes. It can help and support conventional medical treatments in many conditions. The harmonious use of different naturopathic treatment modalities (such as acupuncture, nutritional care, herbal supplements, etc.) can be achieved under the guidance of a licensed naturopathic doctor.
Intravenous Infusion Services
What is Intravenous Infusion Service?
This is the administration of Vitamins, Minerals and Amino Acids by the Intravenous Route through the Arm, Forearm or Hand Veins.
Why Do People Receive Intravenous Infusions?
There are many reasons why people receive this type of treatment such as:
- Inability to digest food or drinks properly so they are deprived of nutrition, and the best way to satisfy their adequate nutrition and water intake is to administer these vitamins intravenously.
- To deliver a higher dose of nutrients and vitamins that cannot be delivered naturally if taken by mouth. For example, administering high doses of vitamin C for cancer patients to help them during cancer treatment can be achieved only by the intravenous route and cannot be administered by mouth, as the gut can absorb only small amounts of vitamin C.
- To administer nutrients that are really very low in food, and some patients need them. These nutrients are called Trace elements.

How long does it take for the intravenous infusion therapy?
The duration of the infusion varies according to the amount of vitamins and minerals given the intravenous fluid bag as well as what you will receive. Generally, it ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours. Your doctor will discuss this with you before you start.
What do you expect before you start the Intravenous Infusion Therapy?
Your Doctor will discuss with you why you will be a candidate for an intravenous therapy, and for how long the infusion lasts, how many times you need to receive the infusion in a week or a month and the total numbers of the infusion. Your doctor will ask you to sign a consent form indicating that you agree on this treatment.
Do you need to see your Naturopathic Doctor Before starting the Intravenous Infusion Therapy?
Yes it is essential that your Naturopathic Doctor has a meeting with you to determine the need and type of the Intravenous Infusion Therapy for you , discuss various aspects of the treatment and also approve your treatment plan.
Does Intravenous Infusion Therapy require any Blood Work?
Yes, any Intravenous Treatment needs a blood work before it starts. Your Naturopathic Doctor will determine what type of blood test you need to do before your Intravenous Infusion. The blood test can be done by your Naturopathic Doctor or Family Doctor or a Walk in Clinic Physician.
Is the Intravenous Infusion Service is Covered by OHIP or Private Insurance?
This service is NOT covered with OHIP, however, most insurance plans cover the Intravenous infusion Therapy (Mainly the administration fee ).
Which Location of the Ontario Naturopathic Clinic Offers Intravenous Infusion Therapy?
Only Toronto Location (2045 Dufferin Street Toronto Unit 210 B&C M6E 3R4) offers this service the Grimsby Location does not offer this service.
Does this service need a referral from you family physician or medical doctor?
There is no need to have a referral from your family doctor or physician to offer you this service, however, your family doctor can refer you to have this service at the clinic.
Can other Naturopathic Doctors Refer you to have the Intravenous Infusion Therapy with us?
Yes, your naturopathic Doctor can refer you to have or continue to receive your intravenous infusions at out clinic

Acupuncture
It is the use of acupuncture needles to reduce pain in painful conditions such as muscle cramps and joint sprains. It can be used to balance the energy pathways in the body, called sometimes the meridians, and this helps in treating many disorders such as stress, sleep disorders, and reflux disease. Sometimes, electrical stimulation can be added to the acupuncture needles to strengthen its effects, such as when joint or muscle pains are treated. Acupuncture has gained great popularity in treating many disorders, such as infertility and peripheral neuropathy. The use of acupuncture requires a lot of clinical experience from the licensed naturopathic doctor.

Our Naturopathic Doctor had a past experience as a clinical Oncologist at Cairo University, Egypt, for 20 years, but now he does not practice oncology in Egypt or Canada, as he is not a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ontario and is only licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in Ontario
Glutathione Inhalation
Glutathione is a natural antioxidant that has the function of fighting against oxidative stress. It is a normally secreted substance by the human liver, and its main role as an antioxidant is to neutralise the effects of toxins or foreign molecules introduced into our bodies. With repeated exposure to stress, pollution and toxins, the body consumes a lot of glutathione to get rid of these toxins, so it gets depleted. Replacement of lost or depleted glutathione can enhance the body's ability to fight pollution and toxins. One of the very prominent examples of the body's exposure to pollutants and foreign substances is lung allergies, or what is called bronchial asthma.
Bio-identical Hormones
These are plant-derived products that mimic in structure the body hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid hormones. They can do exactly the same function as the synthetic hormones, with the advantage of having less toxicity and complications. For example, the desiccated thyroid hormone is not a synthetic but a naturally available thyroid extract that supports thyroid health. Moreover, bio-identical estrogen and progesterone hormones can be used in a variety of women's health issues, such as postmenopausal syndrome (hot flushes, flashes, vaginal dryness, and sleep disorders), premenstrual syndrome and irregular uterine or vaginal bleeding.
Vitamin B12 Injections
Vitamin B12 is a very important vitamin for many physiological processes in the body, such as red blood cell formation and nerve function. Vitamin B12 deficiency usually happens to vegans, people with chronic gastritis, and alcoholics. If vitamin B12 is deficient, it may result in anaemia ( called megaloblastic anaemia), and possibly loss of balance due to injury to the posterior tracts of the spinal cord, and may be peripheral neuropathy. Correction of vitamin B12 deficiency can be easily achieved with a weekly intramuscular injection of vitamin B12.
Pain Management
One of the effective modalities in pain management is the use of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF). It is based on a low-frequency, low-intensity electromagnetic radiation that is used for pain management and inflammation. It acts by stimulating the blood flow to the area, reducing inflammation and oedema. There are no risk hazards associated with its use, as its frequencies lie within the safe human use and are approved by Health Canada.

- Initial Visit: $200 (approx 1 hour)
- Follow-Up Visits: $100 (approx 30 minutes)
- Acupuncture Treatment: $100 (approx 30 minutes)

Dr Ehab has practised Clinical Oncology, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Hormonal Therapy and Palliative Care for Cancer patients for over 20 years in the Middle East.
During his academic career as a lecturer and then as a professor of Oncology at Cairo University, Dr Ehab has published 36 scientific research articles in recognised medical journals. Dr Ehab has visited many cancer centres in Canada, including the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, to gain more experience in the Canadian health care system and oncology practice.
- A former professor of clinical oncology, faculty of Medicine since 2009, Cairo University Egypt.
- Taught classes of oncology at Cairo University, teaching undergrad students the principles of radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
